Meet Seventh Generation’s newest Laundry Product: laundry soap in a fully recyclable and compostable container that carries 4X the amount of soap. The entire packaging system uses 66% less plastic than a typical 100 oz 2X laundry bottle, yet it carries the same amount of soap.
The laundry soap itself is a plant based, multi-enzyme formula that has been created to fight stains. We have put this formula to the test in our house for the past couple of weeks and I am very impressed! Our family had the stomach flu, need I say more?! Some of us were even healthy eaters the night before and ate a lot of blueberries (ok, I said more, but I *had* to!). All of the stains came out with the use of this laundry soap! Very impressive.
We currently have the Geranium Blossums and Vanilla scent, which I quite like. It leaves our laundry with a very light but clean scent. This product also comes in a Free and Clear Scent. I am eager to test it out.
Some information about Seventh Generation Laundry Soap:
- Non-toxic
- No optical brighteners
- Biodegradable formula
- Hypoallergenic
- No dyes or synthetic fragrances
- Designed for standard and HE machines
When we are done with this detergent, we will simply take the outer compostable packaging and stick it in our backyard composter. I can’t wait to do this with our children to that they can watch with their own two eyes how quickly *some* packaging can disappear into the earth while we also recycle the interior plastic (that uses 66% less plastic than a typical 2.95 litre bottle).
Interesting Fact:
The recycled cardboard container uses 25% less energy to make and releases fewer sulfur dioxide emissions. Each ton also saves nine cubic yards of landfill space and 46 gallons of petroleum.
