The Great 2012 Sandals Hunt

Two years ago, we made the terrible, TERRIBLE mistake to buy my son (1.5 at the time) a pair of sandals that weren’t leather. They were what I like to call them “FisherMan” style sandals so that his little toes wouldn’t get scuffed when he was running around (and doing a lot of tripping too!). After one day of wearing his new sandals, they stunk so bad, I thought I was going to be sick. We tried everything. We put them in the sun, we sprinkled them with foot powder (I was DESPERATE people!) and I even broke down and washed them. Unforunately, nothing took the stink out and we ended up just dealing with it.

Little did I know at the time that the solution was easy! Buy him leather sandals. ALL leather sandals, the foot bed, the upper, the inner, everything but the bottom of the sole was going to be leather! And it worked. We had to go on quite a hunt, but were lucky enough to find a pair at a brand name shoe store.

This year, we thought it would be easy. We would return to the same store where we bought his sandals last year and we would buy the bigger size.

WRONG!

For whatever strange reason, they don’t make all leather sandals for bigger boys (my son is now 3.5). We have searched high and low and every store has the same answer. Either use the foot powder, deal with the stink of find a specialty Italian shop that sells all leather shoes.

As we were driving home from our 2012 Sandals Hunt, it hit me: PediPed was going to have a pair for sure! And I was pretty confident that they would have an equivalent pair for my 7 year old daughter too (although she doesn’t have quite the same problem that my son does).

After spending less than a minute on PediPed’s website, I had found a few sandals that would work perfectly for my kiddies this summer. I just wish that we could find them in a store so that we could try them on!

My Mother-In-Law bought my daughter her very first pair of shoes and they were PediPed shoes. I was sold after that very first pair. Not only were they scrumptiously cute, but they also fit her so well and were top quality!

Any time I see PediPed shoes, I either buy them or I am tempted to buy them because they are great shoes for kids and I trust this brand!
