I remember one year for Mother’s Day, we got my Mom a bbq brush. At the time, somehow, my Dad had convinced us that this is what my Mom would want and we were genuinely excited to give it to her. You can imagine the confusion we felt when she opened it, started to cry and stormed up to her room for the rest of the day. Men! My Dad was always and continues to be a brutal shopper for gifts for my Mom. He still needs reminders of special dates too.
My hubby is somewhat obsessed with bbq brushes. I’m not sure what the huge obsession is, but we have many different ones. We’ve had wooden handle ones, metal handle ones, ones with scrapers, you get the picture.
Now, I didn’t give this brush to him for Father’s Day. I gave it to him early for two reasons:
1) Because I had to write this review.
2) Because I will never give a bbq brush as a gift again!
You can only imagine how excited I was when I was offered a sample of the Grill Daddy bbq brush!
This brush is pretty awesome. It cleans with the power of steam. You heat up your grill and brush the plates as water is let out of the brush. This turns into steam and helps to remove the caked on food residue.
Now, our grill has gotten dirty over time. Despite the obsession with bbq brushes, our grill hasn’t been properly “cleaned” in a long time. The Grill Daddy did a great job of cleaning some parts that truly haven’t been cleaned properly in a long time.
This bbq brush definitely would make a great Father’s Day gift!
I think it’s great that it works but this summer I seen reports where surgeons are asking people to stop using these kinds of brushes because the metal bristles are falling off the brushes and they’re ending up in the food. Then when you eat the metal bristles are tearing the intestines apart. I seen somewhere that instead of using the brushes you can crumple up some tin foil into a ball and pick it up with the tongs which acts as a handle and then scrub with that and it really works. No more brushes for us!
