Recently, I was provided with a sample of nursing balm and massage butter from Green Beaver.
This company is Canadian and makes products that are 100% NATURAL, BIODEGRADABLE, VEGAN AND GLUTEN-FREE. The products do not contain: Lanolin, petrolatum, mineral oil, paraben or hydantoin preservatives, artificial aromas, fragrances, flavours or dyes, phthalates, quaternium, EDTA, or propylene glycol.
After reading their story, I was particularly pleased to learn that their philosophy is that if we cannot eat it, it is not good for our skin. This is so very true!
The products that I like the best for my baby are the ones that seem as natural as possible. Both the nursing balm and the massage butter are very similar in that they have hardly any scent at all and glide on the skin so nicely. The great thing about the massage butter is that it is just that, butter–not oil. Oil can get so messy and is almost too slippery to massage an infant with. A little goes a long way with the massage butter and I highly recommend it for people who enjoy giving their wee ones some relaxing massage time. What a great way to bond with your baby! An excellent way for Daddy to get some good physical one on one time with a baby.
The nursing balm goes on so nicely, unlike many other nursing “ointments” that are quite sticky and thick. If your nipples are hurting or even worse, cut, this balm is perfect as you can apply it without hurting yourself in the process. Because the balm isn’t thick and gooey, it doesn’t stain bras etc. and it is easy to wash off. Again, I highly recommend this product to new Moms.
I also received a copy of their Baby Massage Handbook, which admittedly wasn’t as detailed as I would have liked it to be. Although it contains images to help you understand what to do, I found their instructions not so great.
Definitely go check out Green Beaver Products, there is something for everyone in your family.
WOW! I’m definitely checking this stuff out! Send them my way, too, would you? I’d love to try out their mommy stuff. I LOVE that philosophy that if you can’t eat it you shouldn’t put it on your skin. How appropriate for Earth Day, too…. Thank you for bringing this company to my attention. I’m very interested…. Great review, as always, by the way!!!
I’ve never heard of this company but I love that they’re vegan
