greenCAPP Lunch Bag

Last year, I had such a difficult time packing my daughter’s snacks and lunches for school. She was in Kindergarten and could not yet close all of her containers properly. This led to spills, messes and in one of her lunch bags, even mould. I wiped out her bags every night when she came home from school, but throughout the year, they still got rather gross inside!

I was so excited when I heard about greenCAPP Lunch Bags because finally, a company had come out with a MACHINE WASHABLE exterior and a DISHWASHER or HAND WASH inside!

The other thing that really caught my eye about the greenCAPP Lunch Bags is that they are expandable! No longer do I have to be tied down to a small sized lunch bag! This bag expands as you pack more items.

After washing the exterior, I did have a slightly difficult time replacing the BPA FREE plastic interior. I learned a trick that you have to tuck the corners in underneath the elastic.

The only downside to these adorable bags, is that I found they do not insulate lunches as well as some other types of bag – BUT because they do expand, you can easily stick a small ice pack in the keep perishables cool all day long.

These lunch bags are totally worth buying, especially when young children are concerned. Children can be very messy and are not always adept at closing their lunch containers. Even being in Grade One, my daughter has already had one major spill in her backpack. At least it was just water.

My son is not a fan of sandwiches. So, I put rolled up sliced lunch meat on tooth picks in his lunch bag and he enjoys eating that.

I make mini muffins and freeze them in Tupperware containers. One little muffin fits perfectly in the small containers and when you put a frozen one in it is thawed and fresh by lunchtime.

My kids like to help me to bake stuff for their lunches. They also like to take pizza pretzels a couple of times a week instead of sandwiches.

In the warmer weather I always freeze his juice and sometimes yogurt. It keeps it fresh longer and he likes it a little frosty.
