The Bolshoi Ballet Series
is played LIVE at Cineplex Theatres Across the Country
I took my 6 year old daughter to see Sleeping Beauty, the BALLET performed by the Bolshoi Ballet Company this past Sunday. What a treat it was!
It’s not that I don’t love going to true LIVE events, because I do, but there is something to be said about watching a ballet in the comfort of a movie theatre (vs traditional theatre seats) and having an incredible, front row (and behind the scenes) seat!
My daughter and I stayed for the entire 3 hour performance, which I was surprised about, but she was loving the performance so much that although she got a tad antsy, she wanted to stay until the end.
I enjoyed the fact that the performance was a LIVE STREAM of the actual ballet. We got to watch the ballet dancers warming up behind the curtain, we got a special introduction about the ballet and during the 20 minute intermission, they even put a camera in the lobby of the theatre to make it even more “real” for us.
The view was incredible, the story was beautiful and the dancing was inspiring!
The Nutcracker is coming to theatres on December 18th and 19th, 2011 and my daughter is already begging for me to take her.
This was a cost effective, comfortable and convenient way to watch the Ballet.
