Before we get to the exciting announcement, I wanted to share some streaming ideas for your children this fall. My children have two favourite “down time” activities: playing outside and streaming from Netflix. With their busy back to school schedule, it is VERY important to ensure that they are getting enough down time!
In fact, last week, I shared our After School Routine Chart, but what I neglected to share was the fact that there are many days where my children opt to watch a tv show instead of going outside to play because they just need to relax before they go outside.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story
Glee
Radio
The Pursuit of Happyness
The Karate Kid
Turbo
Shrek

Monster Math Squad
Curious George
Super Why!
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Signing Time
Animal ABCs
LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy
And now for some Netflix announcements for kids!
Netflix and Saban Brands have announced a brand new, POP-tastic original kids series! Popples, which made its original debut in the U.S. in 1985, will be a new animated series that re-imagines the nostalgic adorable species of brightly coloured creatures that transform from fluffy balls to furry friends, and back again. I was a HUGE fan of Popples when I was a kid, so I am super excited to introduce this show to my children!
Netflix will transport viewers into the colourful world of Popplopolis with 26 half-hour episodes, beginning in late 2015.
Netflix and Rainbow Studios have announced a spin-off of Winx Club as a new original TV series for kids. In Winx Club WOW, the girls embark on an undercover journey all around the world looking for talented kids in art, sports, music and science. My kids are both fans of Winx dolls so they will be very excited to hear this news!
I loved the Popples when I was little and had several stuffed ones! Will have to introduce my niece to this show!
So many shows to choose from, wonder what the grandkids will be watching
Popples take me waaaaay back, my sister and I both had one. Netfilx is so great, we are huge fans here!! My hubby, our teen, and myself all have stuff we watch on Netflix, and even our toddler has a few favorites.
My sons LOVE Curious George! My oldest is going as Curious George for Halloween. I’m so happy we have Netflix to watch Curious George anytime we want!
That is awesome – my niece loves the Winx club so I am sure she will love the spin-off too!
We don’t have Netflix but my son is contemplating having it for the children. There would certainly be plenty of nice things for them to watch.
I love Netflix. They have offer some great shows for kids of all ages.
The grandkids enjoy watching their retro cartoons on netflix
I would much rather have Netflix then Bell Satellite. It seems all that is on is commercials with Bell. I used to watch Popples too when I was a kid. Netflix has so many shows to choose from.
Lots to watch with a bowl of popcorn to eat
I am behind the times I have not tried Netflix yet
I LOVED the popples when I was a kid! Excited to see its return!
Netflix is brilliant for kids and none of those pecky adverts that are aimed at your kids!
My son is still thinking about Netflix for his children (himself too no doubt!) but can’t seem to make up his mind 🙁
I really am going to have to check out Netflix this winter
Wow,I have been reading a lot of good comments about Netflix
I think Netflix is great. We only stream in our house.
