Have you heard of shelf safe milk?

Up until last week, I had definitely heard of it.

I had seen it too, but I stayed away from it. FAR, far away from it, until…..

I watched this super informative video:

And then, I felt much better about purchasing this shelf safe milk as a perfectly safe and nutritious alternative to traditional cartons or bags of milk sold in the refrigerator section at the grocery store.

Knowing that there are no additional preservatives or additives makes me feel better that I am feeding my family 100% milk. The milk is simply heated to a very high temperature, using a UHT pasturization process to ensure that the milk stays safe in the Tetra Pak package.

Now I truly wish that I had done my research a long time ago because I’ve been missing out on the convenience of this Shelf Safe milk for a long time!

I remember having a conversation with a good friend of mine who was boggled with the idea that people would purchase milk (or any other food product) in a Tetra Pak and that like me, she stayed far away from those products. I’m really eager to go on a walk with her (she’s my walking/venting buddy) and share with her everything that I have learned by watching that short video above.

We are heading to the cottage soon and I will definitely be packing some Shelf Stable milk this trip! It is SO much more convenient than worrying about whether or not I can keep the milk at an appropriate temperature to remain safe to consume. AND this way, when I arrive at the cottage and my Mom tells me that there is NO room in the fridge, that will be ok because I will keep my milk in the pantry until we are ready to use it. What a relief! Trust me, space in the fridge at the cottage is limited and precious!

In my opinion, shelf safe milk makes a whole lot of sense and here is why:

1. Technically, if plan properly, you will not ever run out of milk again!
2. You will have more storage space in your refrigerator.
3. You have an option to send it to school and know that it is perfectly safe for your child to drink.

Milk Unleashed is convenient for families when they are:

• Travelling
• Camping
• In an emegercy situation in their house (e.g. inclement weather)
