I was inspired to share with you some ideas for how to celebrate Earth Day with your children because there are so many wonderful ideas out there!
It is so important that we teach our children to take care of our earth. We want our children to be happy and healthy and to be able to have happy and healthy children themselves. The best way we can do this is by setting an example ourselves, but there are also some more specific things that we can teach our children.
One way to get our children excited about recycling is to make a craft out of recycled objects like the 51 recycled crafts featured on EverythingMom.com!
Another way is to make something with your children like this:

or this:
- Tidy up your own yard or your local park
- Plant an indoor garden that can later be transferred outdoors when the weather gets warmer
- Play a recycling sorting game to teach children what items can and cannot be recycled
- Print off some FREE Earth Day Printable Activities for your kids
- Make your home Green Room by Room
What do you do with your children to teach them to be kind to our earth?
Those are some great ideas! My 7 year old has a huge love for the earth, so I feel like we do many “Earth Day” activities all year long.
We have made some fun food for the birds that I’ve posted about.
Have a great day!
Doing Earth Day activities all year long is the best way to do it, I feel! Good job!!!
Oh that bird feeder is awesome – I can not wait to see leaves on our trees again. (the picture makes me long for green leaves) lol!
The kids have an Earth Day clean up at school and at home we will be picking up garbage which finds it way onto our lawn over the winter.
Oohhh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these ideas! So pretty! THanks! 🙂

using recyclables for crafts is such a great idea!
I love the bird feeder! My dad has a huge apple tree in his back yard that would look amazing full of these hanging everywhere! Thanks for the idea!

Happy Earth Day! I love those ideas! The paint chip mosaic is really pretty! I love that you re-purposed the bottle and made a bird feeder!
Recycling is automatic in our household. My son has been raised to put all the glass, plastic, metals etc into the dedicated recycle bin. He also knows all items that have deposits go back to the depot.
These are fantastic craft ideas. I love hearing about the ways people are celebrating Earth Day with their little ones.

Thanks! I will head there now 🙂
thanks for linking up with my earth day linky! Our oldest (5) is responsible for recycling. Everything goes in our recycle corner and he sorts it out into the appropriate bin. He also helps to put food waste into the green bin container
Thank YOU for having a linky 🙂 That is so wonderful to hear that you involve your children in the recycling!
