Growing up, we usually spent Easter with my cousins, my Aunt and Uncle and my Grandma. My Mom or my Aunt would always cook an Easter ham. For me, an Easter celebration just isn’t the same without a good ham.
This Easter, we are also excited to be celebrating my daughter’s 8th birthday (as an aside, I cannot believe that my baby is turning 8!). One of her favourite meals is my Homemade Mac and Cheese. So, we are compromising and having Mac and Cheese AND Ham, sounds good to me!

with this:

Maple Leaf® Country Kitchen® Smoked Ham
My “go to” ham has always been the Maple Leaf® Country Kitchen® Smoked Ham and I have NEVER been disappointed! Ham is so easy to make. One of my favourite and easiest ways to prepare a ham is to put the ham in a pot, pour a can of gingerale over top and simmer on low for an hour or so. DONE! Easy peasy!
This Easter, I will be doing something slightly different by cubing the ham and adding it to my daughter’s Mac and Cheese. It’s not quite as “fancy”, but that doesn’t matter. As long as my daughter is happy, that is all that matters!

The best part of our Easter Sunday meal this year will be that our daughter will be here with us. She’s been at every Easter dinner since she was born, but this is the first Easter since she’s moved out on her own. As the “guest” of honour she gets to choose between two of her favourite meals – roast chicken and (a less conventional Easter meal) Sheperd’s Pie. She’d better choose soon or I won’t have time to get to the grocery store!
I’ll be going to a relative’s house for Easter dinner. The best part is all the food.
We will be doing Easter dinner at my sister’s this year. I always look forward to her scallop potatoes.
