I have a confession to make: I like country music. There, I said it and I’m proud! I’ve liked country music ever since I was a young child and my father would play it in his car while we would ride to visit my grandmother. I might have also spent a significant amount of time in Nashville in my high school years which influenced my music taste. Of course, I love many other types of music, but country is definitely one of my favourites.
When I heard that Xbox Kinect had gone COUNTRY, I was very eager to get my paws on a copy!
I was very excited to be familiar with so many of the songs, both old and new! Here is the play list:
Alan Jackson – Good Time
Ashton Shepherd – Look It Up
Billy Currington – People Are Crazy
Blake Shelton – All About Tonight
Brad Paisley – Water
Brooks & Dunn – Boot Scootin’ Boogie
Carrie Underwood – Cowboy Casanova
Chad Brownlee – Carried Away

Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire
Josh Kelley – Georgia Clay

I occasionally head out to a country bar and join my girlfriends in a night of line dancing. It is so much fun and such great exercise, we just love it. However, I cannot always get out at night to go line dancing, but now I don’t have to worry because I can get my fix with Country Dance All Stars right at home!
The difference between going live and doing it on xBox, aside from the atmosphere, of course is twofold:
- Traditional line dancing is more repetitive than this Xbox version.
- I am more comfortable following someone in front of me who is not a mirror image.
What I am saying is that learning how to play Country Dance All Stars is a bit of a learning curve. BUT, once you get the hang of it, it is a lot of fun!
I could totally see me inviting my girlfriends over one night to have a Girls Night In to play this game. As long as they all promised to refrain from laughing at my pathetic dance moves. But, that is the beauty of Dancing Games for the Xbox, you can play them by yourself in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Check out Country Dance All Stars in action (and NO, you don’t get to see me dance!):

love country music!
I like country music when I’m in the mood for it but I don’t listen to it all the time. I have a country dance game for the Wii (since I don’t have Xbox) but it’s too hard for me! (I am NOT good at dance games)
This looks like so much fun! Ugh, I’m still saving for my Xbox 360 and Kinnect, I’m hoping by Fall.
I love country music… my absolute favourite to listen too! 🙂
I love country music too!!! 🙂 And I’d go out to a country bar for some line dancing, except that they are hard to find in Victoria. This looks like it would be fun.
Looks like a great game! I do love to line dance 😉 But when listening to music country never is my first choice.
Fun! I love line dancing. That being said I haven’t done it since way back in my adolescents.
You know I love line dancing, so country music dancing of any type would be awesome to me! 🙂 My dad always listened to country music too, that’s who I would hear it with on drives, haha.
I am so excited that Honky Tonk Badonkadonk is in this game, it makes me laugh every time I hear it!!!
I need to come over for Girls Night In soon so we can do this!
I’m not into country music very much, but there are a few tunes that are catchy! Glad you had fun!!
