  1. I have to pump so no tips here. This is the cutest top I need it BADLY!

  2. Olivia L says:

Important tip is not to supplement with formula unless you have absolutely no choice. Supplementing will reduce your supply further.

Oh, and always have water close by. Nursing is thirsty work!

  3. driii says:

Don’t give up if baby doesn’t latch right away.

  4. Sweet Panda says:

If you want to increase your milk flow after your baby is born, you will need to nurse very often. Even though it’s hard, but if you nurse often (like every 1 1/2 hour to 2 hour), you will find that your milk flow will increase. Also, you will need to drink a lot of liquid, it will help too.

  5. Faa says:

Have your baby drink a lot from you to keep your milk supply.

  8. Make sure you are comfortable!

  9. Cheryl says:

Use a nursing pillow when nursing your baby. Or if you are sleepy, you can nurse the baby in the bed while laying down making yourself more comfortable and rested.

  10. Not speaking from experience in the least, but from talking with my mom-buddies, it seems that relaxing is a key part of success in breastfeeding (and probably the most trying). I can only imagine how easier said than done it would be to relax while trying to learn to breastfeed, particularly if it’s a completely new experience for you (+ just one of so many others all at once!). It’s a new learning experience for both you and baby so be extra kind and gentle with yourself as you explore the limits of your comfort zone.

I’ve also read that a breastfeeding pillow can be very helpful with newborns to help keep them well-supported.

Thanks for the great giveaway! I think these tanks would be the perfect gift for new moms and moms-to-be. 🙂

  11. The Beer's says:

Cold cabbage leaves and a big glass of water is a must have for any newly nursing mom!

  12. No tips as I had to do formula the first time, great to read all these though!

  13. I nursed all 4 of my kids. They are all older now, so if I won this gorgeous top would go to a friend who is expecting in Augist.

The best tip for nursing is to try, and if it doesn’t work for you don’t ever, ever feel bad. It does not make you less of a mom because you don’t want to nurse or because you can’t nurse. What makes you a mom is the love you have for your baby.

But if you can and want to, try, if its hard get help before giving up. But be happy either way. A happy mama makes a happy baby.

  14. My tip is not to give up! It DOES get better, and breastfeeding is so amazing!

I NEED a Naked Tank – I almost bought one months ago and just yesterday I wished I had!

  16. Nathania H says:

cold cabbage leaves are amazing, and lanolin. Nurse every 3hrs until you and your baby have a schedule. Amazing experience.

  17. Missypen says:

Don’t let the first few days get your down. The pain goes away FAST and it will be an amazing experience!

  18. Shari G says:

My tip: Teething babies that are cutting 4-8 teeth at a time, will bite, and it hurts like a dickens!!

In all seriousness, if you get biten shout NO!!! really loudly it spooks them, and will make them not want to do it anymore. If they do keep biting, and you can’t get them to stop. Don’t feel guilty if you have to stop breastfeeding. Stressing yourself out isn’t good for you or the baby.

  19. My tip would be…for a new mom. Nursing can hurt. Yep, so find someone to help you who has breastfed before and can give you support.

  20. I love the naked tank!

Get PROFESSIONAL help if you need it, nothing can compare to seeing a LC or a specialist to help you get things right

  21. Anne N. says:

make sure you put on lanolin after feeding so you nipples to get chapped.

  22. Maegan Morin says:

Nipple guards dont work for everyone and persistance pays off.
