Make Everyday Earth Day with The Healthy Shopper Picks for Spring 2013 at Affordable Prices

The Healthy Shopper was founded by Randy Boyer and Andrea Donsky in 1999 to encourage Canadians to pursue and maintain a naturally healthy lifestyle and enable consumers to buy high-quality natural and organic products at more affordable prices. Their book “Unjunk Your Junk Food”, has become a very meaningful resource for educating those searching for healthier alternatives to their favourite junk food.

The Healthy Shopper provides Canadians with a Coupon Book featuring natural and organic products. It is no secret that often, organic and natural products are higher priced than other products, but this Coupon Book and TheHealthyShopper.ca make these quality and healthy products more affordable for Canadians.

While I wasn’t able to test out all of the products that were recommended this time around, I am very thankful to be introduced to some Canadian companies that care about providing Canadians with natural products.

I am definitely going to keep the Zax’s Original Bruise Cream around for the summer time! I do bruise easily and don’t like showing off all of my bruises all summer long, unlike my four year old son.

I have passed along the Natracare New Mother Maternity Pads to someone close to me who is hopefully going to be blessed with another baby one day in the future. I know that she will appreciate the fact that these pads (along with the wipes too) are 100% chlorine and plastic free and are made with only natural and organic products.

Someone in my family is very prone to Leg Cramps that tend to be so painful that they lose sleep. I will be sharing the Hyland’s Homeopathic Traditional Leg Cramps Formula with them in hopes that they can be cramp free in a natural way.

Now, for the food…

I am very impressed with the large variety of flavours that Simply Natural Organic Salsas offer from Pineapple, Mango, Black Bean & Corn to the more traditional Mild or Medium flavours. All of their salsas are low in sodium, high in flavour and free of chemical additives or preservatives.

Coconuts and their nutritional value are very trendy right now. I am excited to try out the Earth Balance Organic Coconut Spread on my toast and baking. It is free of lactose, soy, dairy, casein and gluten and makes a great alternative to butter or margarine.

And lastly, the yogurt from Olympic Dairy sounds like such a great choice for my family as it is natural and organic certified as well as being free from synthetic preservatives, gelatins, chemicals and fillers.

  1. Sound like some great choices! I appreciate the recommendations! I have used Zax’s bruise cream in the past and have found it works well. I’m keen to try some of the other products!
