This contest is now closed. Congratulations to DawnH!
Lisa from Borden Communications has generously offered to sponsor a contest here on Multi-Testing Mommy. She will provide one lucky winner with two snack bags and two pocket bags from Rume Bags.
Lisa’s articles and website have really motivated me to try even harder to be eco friendly as much as possible. She has some great links to products, websites and books on her website that you should check out if you are environmentally inclined.
Rume Bags are such a great way to cut down on using saran wrap and ziplock bags.
They are perfect for a sandwich, snacks, and even fruits and vegetables. A zipper ensures a tight seal so you don’t have to worry about spills. They can also be used to keep wet clothing separate from other items in your diaper bag.
Rume Bags are:
Rume bags are hand washable or can be placed in the top rack of your dish washer.
Now for the contest details:
You can purchase Rume Bags directly from RumeBags.com or in Canada, online at GoneShopping.ca.
Last year, I bought a laptop lunch box for myself and my daughter, and we both love our lunchboxes. I try to bring my lunch to work everyday, but it usually works out to be about 4 days a week. My daughter got so much positive feedback from her laptop lunchbox at school, that she is a member of her school’s environmental club. She started a new school this year, now in middle school, and after the first day of school, she was excited to tell me that they have a compost bin in the lunch room!
And I signed up for your twitter page!
And I added you as a friend on my Facebook! 🙂
this is a fantastic idea, and a great Christmas gift idea too, cute!! added you on twitter
I use glass and/or stainless steel containers as re-usable storage containers for my children’s lunches. They ride a bus to school (also more eco-friendly than me driving them) and so don’t have to feel the burden of the extra weight the glass gives them.
and I signed up for your Twitter feed on BOTH of my Twitter accounts: @dsfq and @babyREADY
. . . and I added you as a friend on Facebook . . .
. . . and finally, I followed your blog on my Blogger – my blog is: http://blog.babyREADY.ca
My eco-friendly tip is to turn off the water while you are brushing your teeth.
I love the stackable stainless steel bento boxes. You can pack up to 3 or 4 items in them and they of course are reusable for what seems like forever.
I was helping Grams clean out the shed when we came across Gramps old lunch box. It was a little beat up (he was in construction) but it cleaned up well, and now I have a lunch box that is not only easy to pick out of a busy fridge, but also reminds me of the times I shared with him!
I love reuseable sandwich wraps. they’re adorable and great for the environment
I use reuable shopping bags
Thanks for the chance.

I love those bags. I never thought about bags for the crackers and such. I try to reuse the cracker bags for a week before tossing them. I love Nuby toss containers (bought in Germany) they are light enough that if you have to toss them it’s not so bad but I just reuse them. It’s been great for sticky things like dried mango, grapes and also for cheerios 🙂 My daughter can hold the cup herself and they come in a variety of sizes too.

My favorite eco-friendly tip is instead of using countless plastic bags to hold food items, like leftovers, use reusable glass or porcelain storage containers. They’re safe for the microwave, oven and dishwasher (minus the plastic lids), plus they don’t leach harmful chemicals into your food!!

My favorite eco friendly lunch tip is to use tupperware! Hubby always had a tupperware lunch box instead of a bag, it protects his lunch and is much greener!
Thanks for the great giveaway 🙂
I try really hard to pack my lunch in Tupperware containers and not baggies. Thanks! sbcashortie (at) hotmail (dot) com

My daughter’s school does “litterless lunches” so everything is in reusable containers or is compostable. And we love our 12 oz Klean Kanteen…it’s the perfect size to fit in a lunch bag.
Ooh! I’d like to enter!
You’re my friend on Twitter, I just added you to Facebook (sorry for the lateness on THAT one)… um…
Eco friendly? We have a Brita, so my brother and I always take BPA-free or stainless steel water bottles to school (him to grade six, me to my volunteer work haha). Also: we always had lunch bags (not paper or plastic bags) AND we always take plastic containers, not so much garbage.
Reusable sandwich wraps and grocery totes are in use at our house. Recycling clippings / mulching lawn mower is another enviro-friendly practice.
I actually got my son a bamboo lunch bag (too cute and when it is not longer useable you can plant it and no waste!!) he also uses reuseable snack/sandwich bags for all lunch items.. Which I really need to do..
I use the rubermaid juice boxes instead of sending my son with juice boxes.
I now follow you on twitter.

Love your blog. Entering your contest as requested 🙂
We pack two lunches every workday. Having a fridge, a toaster and a panini press in my office makes it much easier.
I’m not a Google account person but if you pick me, my e-mail is dawnhenrichon@hotmail.com. Thanks.
I am so glad a found this! A coworker mentioned she saw this, but could not remember the name. This is a great idea. I pack tupperware are much as possible in my daughter’s school lunches, but these would be great and should save some room in her lunchbox! My email is venetzm@yahoo.com
