Zucchini-Muffins

My kids LOVE muffins and I’m even more excited to share that they both love Zucchini Muffins! Who knew that ZUCCHINI MUFFINS of all things could be accepted as part of a delicious dessert? That’s right! My kids happily will accept Zucchini Muffins as a yummy treat after dinner. Recently, I was at a client’s house and I admired her MASSIVE zucchini that had been picked fresh from the garden. It was HUGE, as wide around as my arm, absolutely HUGE! I was inspired to get myself some zucchini (sadly, much smaller in size) and do some baking. One favourite … Continue reading

As you might have guessed by now, we are HUGE muffin fans in our home. The kids LOVE freshly made muffins! How can I tell? When I make muffins during the week, I make them at 5:30 in the morning. These pumpkin muffins are fantastic, especially when they are made with freshly pureed pumpkin! … Continue reading

Sinful Strawberry Muffins

Strawberry Muffins

I remember when I was in High School, my best friend and I would go strawberry picking together every June. It was our way of de-stressing during exams. Truth be told, I don’t recall what we did with all of the strawberries. Perhaps my Mom used them to bake her famous Strawberry Bread with Strawberry Butter and her delicious Strawberry Freezer Jam. I have continued on this tradition with my children by taking them every year to our local strawberry patch to pick strawberries. They love it so much, I think they would be happy to stay and pick strawberries … Continue reading

Strawberries are in season and this year, they are really yummy! It must be the cooler weather we have been having here in Ontario. Yesterday, I took the kids strawberry picking. I gave both kids a small strawberry basket, gave them a short picking lesson and off they went. Even my 2.5 year old picked wonderful, red juicy ones. I’ve stored my strawberries in my new Glass Rubbermaid containers (unwashed, in layers in between paper towels) – a review will be coming shortly on these wonderful containers (along with a giveaway!) and now, we’re using the strawberries up. Here is … Continue reading

Halloween Baking: It’s Time to Get Ready for Halloween!

Pumpkin Muffins

I love Halloween, but only the cute and fun aspects, not the horror and gore. I remember being terrified as a young child to visit certain houses at Halloween. To this day, I don’t love staring at the scary decorations. In my adulthood, I have embraced what I term the “fun part” of Halloween for ME and that is the pumpkins, black cats and creative costumes. Our neighbour across the street always brings over fun and delicious Halloween baking for the kids to enjoy. It has become part of our Halloween tradition. Do you have any Halloween traditions that you … Continue reading
