So - what snack did I discover from Mediterranean Snacks?
Baked Lentil Chips
You read that right - chips made out of lentils!
They come in a variety of flavours including cracked pepper, cucumber dill, parmesan garlic, roasted pepper, rosemary and sea salt.
I have enjoyed all of the flavours, but my favourite ones are the sea salt. I enjoy eating them with hummus, a well rounded snack.
The honest truth is, if you had asked me in December whether or not I would consider snacking on "lentil chips", I would have looked at you like you had 10 heads. However, while on a hunt for healthier snack options, I came across a bag of these amazing lentil chips in our small, local grocery store and thought I had nothing to lose if I gave them a try and boy am I ever glad that I did!
In one serving, there are 110 calories, 3 g fat (0 g saturated fat), 3 g fibre, 0 g sugar and 4 g protein. Not bad numbers for a snack in my mind at all!
