I can’t thank MTM enough for wanting me to share my girls’ story with you!
For the last 9 months, my daughter, Rachel, has been growing her hair so that it will be long enough to donate.
In May 2011, I suggested to Rachel that we cut her hair. She wanted to be more independent and shorter hair is easier to take care of.
Rachel’s reply was -- "I want to cut if for cancer."
I stopped in my tracks. Paused. And the only thing I could say was "Really? Go tell your father what you want to do."
Then I cried.
My little girl wants to give something so precious and the thought came so naturally; without hesitation.
I should probably add that Rachel is only 7 years old.
Lauren (almost 5) has since decided she wants to donate her hair as well. This is going to be an amazing day!
The girls are very excited because their Uncle will get to cut their hair on stage in the middle of Square One (Mississaga, ON) on March 24th!
They have their own page where you can pledge money to support the Canadian Cancer Society!
Any donation is greatly appreciated!
